On the island of Karpathos, the veranda, of my husband’s family home is located across the street from the Tricoupees’s village kaffeneo. Our wake-up call every morning is the enticing aroma of freshly prepared Greek coffee, strong enough to awaken even the most ancient of Greek gods. Watching the aromatic coffee froth up in the confines of its own breekee, satisfies even our strongest early morning caffeine cravings. We settle in on the veranda, slowly sipping our liquid aromathrapeutic caffemetrio, while exchanging ’Kaleemera sas” with the local kaffeneo regulars.
