In the early fall of 2000, I returned from Greece and her Islands after experiencing another incredible summer holiday. I was always amazed at how my time spent there seemed to revitalize both my body and spirit. A few months passed and I began to desperately crave the sites, smells and tastes I had experienced and left behind. I had just finished making my favorite pine-scented holiday soap when I got a whiff of something that reconnected me with my long walks through the pefka-ladened Greek mountainside. I felt my heart warmed and my body instantly invigorated. It hit me like a ’double Greek coffee’ in the early morning. As a seasoned soapmaker, what could possibly be better that the synergy of the ancient Greek arts of hydrotherapia and aromatherapia to recreate all my cherished experiences in Greece. Hence, Sweet Thyme “Greek Edition Experi-scent" soaps were conceived. It took me many months and in some cases years to perfect each bar of soap and scent that I passionately craved. As the years go by, I have new experiences in my travels through Greece and I continue to add new “Experi-scents” to my Greek line. I hope our soaps touch you and bring you as much pleasure as I get in creating, making and using them.
NOTE: Your sense of smell is unique since, unlike sight, sound, taste or touch, it bypasses the thalamus and goes directly to the part of the brain that enables you to immediately experience such emotions as pleasure and instant memory retrieval.
